Today is a sad day for Slipknot fans for Paul Gray, the bassist is dead. His body was found at the Towne Place Suites, a hotel in Iowa. He was only 38 years old. The cause of Gray's death is unknown, though an autopsy will be performed tomorrow morning. The media is harping on the idea that is death was caused by a drug overdose. Hopefully this is not true since he leaves behind a wife who is pregnant with his unborn child. In any case, this is truly a tragic situation.
It is very surreal and saddening to me to hear of Paul Gray's death. As a child of the 90's I grew up listening to Slipknot, which was formed in 1995. I'm sure the talented nine-member band will miss Gray's presence on influence on the band. Unfortunately he is not the only rock star to die young. I question why so many of these guys go--why they are involved with drug overdoses? If these drug overdoses are indeed intentional or not? Gray has been arrested for carrying Marijuana in his car in 2003, but pot generally doesn't kill people. What happened to Paul Gray?
